Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwavidyalayam is a spiritual and social educational institution dedicated to the moral, spiritual, and psychological upliftment of humanity. The movement began in 1936 in undivided India, in what is now Sindh, Pakistan, with a small group of around four hundred individuals—primarily women and children. Over time, it has grown into a global spiritual movement headquartered at Mount Abu, India. Today, it offers spiritual and psychological services to nearly 1.4 million families through more than 10,000 service centers across approximately 140 countries worldwide.
According to spiritual wisdom, when unrighteousness rises and dharma declines, divine intervention takes place to restore balance—“Yada Yada Hi Dharmasya Glanir Bhavati…”. At such a time, the incorporeal, luminous Supreme Being manifested through an ordinary human medium to fulfill this divine task and bestowed upon humanity the profound and transformative knowledge of Raja Yoga—often described as a spiritual medicine that revives dormant souls and enables complete inner renewal.
The study and practice within this institution are based on two core elements: divine knowledge (spiritual study) and Raja Yoga meditation. The journey begins with the realization that we are souls—conscious, living beings—residing within the physical body. Through this awareness, we reconnect with our original qualities and inner powers such as peace, love, happiness, purity, and joy, allowing us to stabilize in that elevated state of consciousness.
As this self-awareness deepens, practitioners also learn to remember and connect with the Supreme Soul, the Supreme Father of all souls, visualized as a radiant point of divine light. Through this remembrance, the virtues and spiritual powers of the Supreme Soul are absorbed, gradually empowering the soul. This inner strengthening enables individuals to face life’s challenges with mental clarity, emotional stability, and spiritual maturity.
The introductory Raja Yoga course is conducted over seven days, with one hour of study each day. Upon completion, participants may continue attending daily divine knowledge classes held from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. All teachings and services are offered completely free of charge and are open to people of all backgrounds, irrespective of caste, creed, or religion.
Dada Lekharaj, a successful diamond merchant and a devoted follower of Lord Vishnu, was known for his gentle nature and upright life. In 1936, at the age of sixty, he began receiving profound spiritual visions revealing the future of the universe. Through these divine experiences, he understood that he had been entrusted with a sacred responsibility—to help establish the coming Golden Age.
Recognizing that these visions were being imparted by the formless, radiant Supreme Soul Shiva through him as a medium, he made a life-changing decision. He renounced his prosperous diamond business and dedicated himself fully to spiritual service. He founded a spiritual satsang named Om Mandali, where the focus shifted from material wealth to the exchange of divine wisdom—the true jewels of life. During this divine mission, the Supreme Soul bestowed upon him the name Prajapita Brahma, meaning the Father of Humanity.
Guided by divine inspiration, Brahma Baba established a spiritual trust in the names of eight dedicated women of the satsang, laying the foundation of the spiritual institution later known as Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwavidyalayam.
In its early years, the satsang comprised around four hundred women and young girls who devoted themselves solely to spiritual study, discipline, and deep penance for a period of fourteen years, without engaging in any public outreach. Following India’s independence and partition, the organization relocated its headquarters to Mount Abu, Rajasthan, in 1950. From there, spiritually empowered members began spreading Raja Yoga teachings across major cities in India.
The movement’s first chief administrative and traveling leader was Jagadamba Saraswati, lovingly revered as the Mother of the Yajna. She played a vital role in nurturing and guiding the organization’s spiritual and social education initiatives, rooted in the principles of self-transformation and world transformation.
After Jagadamba Saraswati attained spiritual perfection in 1965 and Brahma Baba in 1969, the leadership of the institution was carried forward by Dadi Prakash Mani Ji until 2007, followed by Dadi Janki Ji, who served until 2020—each continuing the legacy of spiritual leadership, purity, and service to humanity.
The overseas service of the Brahma Kumaris began in 1970. In 1971, the organization established its first overseas service center in London under the dedicated leadership of Dadi Janki Ji, Dadi Ratan Mohini Ji, and Nirmala Didi. This marked a significant milestone in the global expansion of Raja Yoga teachings.
Today, the Brahma Kumaris carries out its service through more than 500 overseas service centers across over 130 countries, with its international headquarters based in London. Through these centers, the organization continues to spread spiritual wisdom, values-based living, and inner transformation across cultures and continents.
വിശ്വ വ്യാപകമായി സമൂഹത്തിന്റെ നാനാതുറകളിലും ആത്മീയ ധാർമിക മൂല്യങ്ങളുടെ ധാരണ യിലൂടെ അന്തസ്സും മൂല്യവും ഉയർത്തുന്നതിനു വേണ്ടിയുള്ള വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ പരിപാടിയാണ് പ്രസ്ഥാനം ഊന്നൽ നൽകുന്നത് .
ഈശ്വരീയ ജ്ഞാനത്തിൽ അധിഷ്ഠിതമായ രാജയോഗധ്യാനം വ്യക്തിയെ മാനസിക സമ്മർദ്ദങ്ങളിൽ നിന്ന് മുക്തമാക്കി ഉയർന്ന മാനസിക ഏകാഗ്രത കൈവരിച്ച് പോസിറ്റീവ് വ്യക്തിത്വവും മെച്ചപ്പെട്ട ജീവിതശൈലിയും പ്രാപ്തമാക്കാൻ സഹായിക്കുന്നു.
മദ്യത്തിന്റെ യും മയക്കുമരുന്നിന്റെയും ദൂഷ്യ സ്വഭാവങ്ങളുടെയും പിടിയിൽനിന്ന് വ്യക്തികളെ മോചിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിനും ഉതകുന്നു.
പ്രജാപിതാ ബ്രഹ്മാകുമാരീസ് ഈശ്വരീയ വിശ്വവിദ്യാലയം എന്ന നാമധേയത്തിൽ അറിയപ്പെടുന്ന ഈ സ്ഥാപനം ഒരു ആത്മീയ സാമൂഹിക വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ സ്ഥാപനമാണ്.1936 ൽ അവിഭക്ത ഭാരതത്തിൽ, ഇന്നത്തെ പാകിസ്താനിലെ സിന്ധിൽ ഏതാണ്ട് നാനൂറോളം പേർ, കൂടുതലും സ്ത്രീകളും കുട്ടികളുമായി തുടങ്ങിയ സ്ഥാപനം ഇപ്പോൾ മൗണ്ട് ആബു ആസ്ഥാനമാക്കി ആഗോളവ്യാപകമായി 140 ഓളം രാജ്യങ്ങളിലായി 10000ൽ പരം സേവാ കേന്ദ്രങ്ങളിലൂടെ 14 ലക്ഷത്തോളം കുടുംബങ്ങളുടെ ആത്മീയ-മാനസിക സേവനം നടത്തി വരുന്നു.
മാനവ കുലത്തിൽ അധർമത്തിന്റെ ആധിക്യവും ധർമ്മത്തിന്റെ അപചയവും വർദ്ധിക്കുമ്പോൾ അധർമ്മത്തെ ഇല്ലാതാക്കാനും ധർമ്മം പുനസ്ഥാപിക്കാനും ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ഇടപെടൽ ഉണ്ടാകുമെന്ന ആപ്തവാക്യം – യദാ യദാഹി ധർമ്മസ്യ… പ്രസിദ്ധമാണല്ലോ .കാലോചിതമായി ഈ ഇടപെടലിനു സമയമായപ്പോൾ സ്വയം നിരാകാരനും ജ്യോതിസ്വരൂപനുമായ ഈശ്വരൻ ഈ കർത്തവ്യം നിർവഹിക്കുന്നതിനു വേണ്ടി ഒരു സാധാരണ മനുഷ്യ ശരീരത്തിൽ പ്രവേശിച്ച് മാനവകുലത്തിന്റെ സർവതോന്മുഖമായ ഉന്നതിക്കുവേണ്ടി നൽകിയ ഒരു മൃതസഞ്ജീവനി ഔഷധം തന്നെയാണ് രാജയോഗം എന്ന ഈ അത്ഭുത വിദ്യ.
ഈശ്വരീയ ജ്ഞാന ക്ലാസുകളും രാജയോഗ ധ്യാന വും അടങ്ങിയതാണ് പഠനരീതി .നാമേവരും ഈ ശരീരത്തിൽ കുടികൊള്ളുന്ന ആത്മാവാണ് (ജീവൻ, പ്രാണൻ) എന്ന് തിരിച്ചറിയുന്നതാണ് ആദ്യചുവട്. ഇതിലൂടെ ആത്മാവിന്റെ സ്വതസിദ്ധമായ സ്നേഹം, സുഖം, സന്തുഷ്ടത, ശാന്തി തുടങ്ങിയ ഗുണങ്ങളും ശക്തികളും ഓർമ്മ വരികയും ആ സ്ഥിതിയിൽ ഇരിക്കാനും കഴിയുന്നു.
അതോടൊപ്പം ആത്മാക്കളുടെയെല്ലാം പരമ പിതാവായ പ്രകാശരൂപിയായ പരമാത്മാവിനെ ഓർമ്മിക്കുമ്പോൾ പരമാത്മാവിന്റെ ഗുണങ്ങളും ശക്തികളും നമ്മളിലേക്ക് നിറയുന്നു. ഇപ്രകാരമുള്ള ഒരു ശാക്തീകരണ പ്രക്രിയയിലൂടെ ആത്മാവിനെ ഗുണവാനും ശക്തി ശാലിയുമാക്കി ഏതു വിപരീത സാഹചര്യങ്ങളെയും മാനസിക പക്വതയിലൂടെ നേരിടാൻ പ്രാപ്തമാക്കുന്നു.
രാജയോഗത്തിന്റെ ഏഴുദിവസത്തെ( ദിവസം ഒരു മണിക്കൂർ വീതം) പ്രാഥമിക ക്ലാസിനു ശേഷം രാവിലെ 7 മണി മുതൽ 8 മണി വരെ നിത്യേന ഈശ്വരീയ ജ്ഞാന ക്ലാസ്സുകൾ ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കും. ജാതിമതഭേദമെന്യേ എല്ലാ വിഭാഗക്കാർക്കും ഈ സേവനം സൗജന്യമാണ്.
വിഷ്ണു ഭക്തനും സൗമ്യ ശീലനും സൽസ്വഭാവിയുമായ ദാദാ ലേഖരാജ് എന്ന ഒരു വജ്രവ്യാപാരിക്ക് തന്റെ അറുപതാം വയസ്സിൽ, 1936ൽ വിശ്വത്തിന്റെ ഭാവിയെ കുറിച്ച് ഒരുപാട് അതിശയിപ്പിക്കുന്ന തരത്തിലുള്ള ദർശനങ്ങൾ ലഭിക്കുകയുണ്ടായി. വരാനിരിക്കുന്ന സ്വർണ്ണിമ യുഗത്തിന്റെ സ്ഥാപനക്ക് താൻ നിമിത്തമാണ് എന്ന ഈശ്വര നിർദ്ദേശം അദ്ദേഹം ശിരസാ വഹിച്ചു .നിരാകാര നും ജ്യോതിസ്വരൂപനുമായ പരമാത്മാശിവൻ അദ്ദേഹത്തെ മാധ്യമമായി ഉപയോഗിച്ചു കൊണ്ട് നടത്തുന്ന ഈശ്വരീയ ദർശനങ്ങളാണ് അത് എന്ന് ബോധ്യമായതോടെ അദ്ദേഹം തന്റെ സമ്പന്നമായ രത്ന വ്യാപാരം അവസാനിപ്പിച്ച് ഈശ്വരീയ ജ്ഞാനരത്നങ്ങളുടെ വ്യാപാരത്തിനായി ‘ഓം മണ്ഡലി’ എന്ന ആത്മീയ സത്സംഗം ആരംഭിച്ചു. അതോടെ പരമാത്മാവ് അദ്ദേഹത്തെ പ്രജാപിതാ ബ്രഹ്മാവ് എന്ന് പുനർനാമകരണം ചെയ്തു. ഇക്കാലത്ത് ഈശ്വരീയമായ പ്രേരണ ഉൾക്കൊണ്ടുകൊണ്ട് തന്റെ സർവ്വ സ്വത്തുക്കളും സത്സംഗത്തിലുള്ള 8 സ്ത്രീകളുടെ പേരിൽ ഒരു ട്രസ്റ്റ് ഉണ്ടാക്കി ബ്രഹ്മാകുമാരീസ് ഈശ്വരീയ വിശ്വവിദ്യാലയം എന്ന ഈ ആത്മീയ സ്ഥാപനത്തിന്റെ തറക്കല്ലിട്ടു.
ആരംഭകാലത്ത് നാനൂറോളം സ്ത്രീകളും പെൺകുട്ടികളുമായി തുടങ്ങിയ സത്സംഗത്തിൽ 14 വർഷത്തോളം പഠനവും തപസ്യയും മാത്രമായിരുന്നു നടത്തിയിരുന്നത്, പ്രചരണം ഒന്നുമില്ലായിരുന്നു .സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യാനന്തരം നടന്ന വിഭജനത്തോടെ സത്സംഗം 1950ൽ രാജസ്ഥാനിലെ മൗണ്ട് ആബുവിലേക്ക് പ്രവർത്തന ആസ്ഥാനം മാറ്റുകയും താമസിയാതെ ഭാരതത്തിലെ പ്രധാനപ്പെട്ട പട്ടണങ്ങളിലേക്ക്, 14 വർഷം തപസ്സ് ചെയ്ത് പാകപ്പെട്ട ബ്രഹ്മാകുമാരീ നാരീരത്നങ്ങൾ മുഖേന പ്രചരണം ആരംഭിച്ചു.
സ്വപരിവർത്തനത്തിലൂടെ വിശ്വ പരിവർത്തനം എന്ന മുദ്രാവാക്യവുമായി ആത്മീയ സാമൂഹ്യ വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ സേവനം നടത്തുന്ന പ്രസ്ഥാനത്തിന്റെ ആദ്യത്തെ മുഖ്യ സഞ്ചാലിക യജ്ഞ മാതാവ് എന്നറിയപ്പെടുന്ന ജഗദംബ സരസ്വതി ആയിരുന്നു. 1965 ൽ ജഗദംബാ സരസ്വതിയും 1969ൽ സ്ഥാപക പിതാവായ ബ്രഹ്മാ ബാബയും തങ്ങളുടെ ആത്മീയ സമ്പൂർണത കൈവരിച്ച് ശരീരം ഉപേക്ഷിച്ച ശേഷം 2007 വരെ ഭരണാധികാരി ദാദി പ്രകാശ് മണിജിയും പിന്നീട് 2020 വരെ ദാദി ജാനകി ജിയും ആയിരുന്നു.
