Where did I come from?

Where did I come from?

When we sit in the awareness “I am a soul,” a natural question arises: Where did I come from?
The answer unfolds as the soul world—our original spiritual home.

Through meditation, when consciousness rises beyond the physical senses, the soul begins to perceive its true home with the inner eye, often called the third eye. In this elevated state, we experience our original qualities of peace, stillness, and purity. A deep sense of tranquility fills the being. By repeatedly practicing this awareness, we begin to see the entire world as a vast drama—observing it as a detached witness, unaffected by the turbulence and commotion of events.

The soul functions through three levels of consciousness:
the physical world, the subtle world, and the soul world.

The Physical World

The world in which we currently live is known as the physical world. Here, every living being has a visible form and shape. This Earth is a vast stage where we souls, wearing the costume of the physical body, perform our roles in the drama of life.

It is also the field of karma, where we sow actions and experience their results as joy or sorrow. In this realm, our existence is bound by time, space, geography, history, and physical laws. Scientific principles operate here because this world is limited and measurable. However, material science cannot explain realities that exist beyond this physical plane.

The Subtle World

Beyond the physical world lies the subtle world. In this realm, sound and material objects do not exist. There are no sensory experiences or influence of physical possessions. Consciousness can reach this plane only through deep meditation and refined inner awareness.

The subtle world shines with pure, sacred light and exists between the material and the immaterial realms. Here, souls in a subtle light form can communicate through pure thought vibrations, without words or physical interaction.

The Soul World

Beyond both the physical and subtle realms lies the soul world—limitless, infinite, silent, and perfectly peaceful. This world is experienced as a radiant golden-red light through meditation. It is the eternal home of all souls and the Supreme Soul.

Known by many names—the Supreme Abode, the Abode of Peace, Nirvana, the Soul World—this is where the soul exists in its original, incorporeal form. When awareness rises to this level, the soul becomes powerful, energized, and deeply stabilized. This elevated consciousness enables us to live in the physical world with balance, clarity, and inner peace.

Returning to One’s Home

Raja Yoga meditation is an inward journey—but through this inner journey, the soul reaches its eternal home. That is why Raja Yoga is also described as a journey upward.

When we transcend body-consciousness, awareness of the soul world naturally awakens. Remaining only in self-awareness can sometimes lead us back into body-consciousness. However, when the soul rests in the awareness of its supreme abode, it can sustain self-consciousness for longer periods. In this state, the soul experiences complete freedom, deep rest, and renewal.

After such meditation, the soul feels fresher and more energized than after physical sleep.

Remembering the Eternal Home

When I reflect on my eternal nature, I realize that I do not truly belong to this visible world. I have come from a realm of divine light—beyond the universe of matter and even beyond the subtle world—where time, sound, and space do not exist.

Yet, by identifying myself only as a character in this vast cosmic drama, I have forgotten my incorporeal home. It is often when souls feel exhausted, disconnected, or lost in life that a deep longing arises—to return to that original abode of peace.

This remembrance is not an escape from life, but a return to truth.
